Gettysburg Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle accident on Baltimore Pike Sunday, June 6. Rescue 1 arrived on scene and assisted EMS with moving the driver from the vehicle to a waiting stretcher. Due to the vehicle's position off the roadway, firefighters removed the passenger door from the vehicle for safer extrication of the passenger.
Both occupants were transported to York Hospital.
Other units included Adams Regional EMS, EMS from Vigilant Hose Company 6 in Emmitsburg, National Park Service, and Cumberland Township Police. Gettysburg Fire Police ensured safety of responders by rerouting traffic around the incident |
