On Saturday June 28th around 1300 hours R1 was alerted for a fuel spill at the Artillery Ridge Campground on Taneytown Road and upon response of Captain 1, additional information was now reporting a propane leak from a food truck at the location. Captain 1 (W. Kuntz) requested the assignment be upgraded to an outside gas leak, now adding our Engine Co.'s to the assignment. Units arrived on scene to find a food truck with a 100-lb propane leaking at the relief valve that had failed. E1-2 arrived and deployed a 1 3/4" handline to keep the tank cool until the leak could be contained. Deputy Chief McGonigal assumed the Command and requested Tanker 22 (Barlow) be added to the call for water supply, along with local EMA representatives. Units operated on the scene for just over an hour until the situation was mitigated.
