| The Gettysburg Fire Department recently received its new 2026 Dodge Ram 2500 Special Service Edition pickup truck following upfitting modifications by 911 Rapid Response. This Command vehicle will be used by the Chief and Line Officers during emergency responses and will serve as a Command Post when necessary.
The new vehicle replaces the department’s 2016 Ford Expedition SUV, which will now be utilized as an additional personnel transport vehicle, general support vehicle, and a secondary Command Vehicle as needed.
The pickup truck design allows personnel to safely store their protective gear, breathing apparatus, and tools in the bed of the truck. This setup helps reduce exposure to harmful substances from firefighting gear that can contaminate the passenger area following an emergency. The upgraded vehicle provides Chiefs and Officers with a safer and healthier way to transport equipment, along with an effective workspace for managing a variety of incidents.
The department acknowledges and thanks 911 Rapid Response for their outstanding work on the vehicle upfitting modifications and their excellent customer service throughout the project.
We would also like to thank the GFD membership for supporting this project from start to finish.
