2100 Block of Old Harrisburg Rd.
Gettysburg Fire Department was dispatched along with EMS and Fire Police to the 2100 Blk of Old Harrisburg Rd for a report of a vehicle vs a utility pole with unknown injuries.
Rescue 1 AOS and found a utility pole down across the roadway. Fire Police already on scene had roadway blocked. EMS was evaluating driver of the vehicle.
Fire Department personnel secured the area, as power was still live to the lines. Power was requested to be dropped remotely by Met-Ed. Met-Ed representative arrived on scene and confirmed lines were still live and they would do additional work to secure power.
Once complete, scene was turned over to Met-Ed and Fire Police remained on scene. Patient refusal and incident being investigated by PSP. Roadway will remained blocked until work is complete.
Safety Reminder: Treat all down lines as being potentially live until a on scene representative confirms that they are in fact de-energized. Stay away and secure the area. |
