| The Gettysburg Fire Department’s Annual Fund Drive solicitation letters were recently mailed to area residents. We have since learned that, due to an error in the mailing process, the solicitation was sent to all residents within the 17325 ZIP Code, rather than only to residents and property owners located within the Gettysburg Fire Department’s primary (first-due) fire response area.
If you received a solicitation letter but do not reside within the primary fire coverage area of the Gettysburg Fire Department, we respectfully ask that you please disregard the letter.
The Gettysburg Fire Department proudly works alongside and provides mutual aid assistance to our neighboring fire departments when requested. However, our Annual Fund Drive is intended to seek financial support specifically from those residents and property owners whose primary fire protection is provided by the Gettysburg Fire Department.
We sincerely apologize for any confusion this mailing error may have caused. We greatly value the strong working relationships we have with our neighboring fire departments and their communities, and it was never our intention to solicit donations from residents outside of our primary response area.
